Oskaras Milašius. Letters. Poetry

Actress Jolanta Dapkūnaitė invites audiences to discover Oskaras Milašius (Oskar Milosz):

“The melancholy of Milašius’s poetry, its sombre romanticism, metaphysical unease, longing for eternal femininity, the pain of losing one’s childhood home, and the spiritualisation of nature—these are rare depths characteristic of his work. Through his poems and the letters that so seldom reach us today, we wish to share them with listeners, along with biographical details of a diplomat who worked almost selflessly for the benefit of Lithuania.”

Jolanta Dapkūnaitė is an actress of the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre. She has been nominated for the Golden Stage Cross award for her roles in Sulphur Magnolias and Café Existans, and received the Laimonas Noreika Reader’s Award at the 59th Poetry Spring festival.

Linas Dužinskas is a pianist and accompanist who regularly performs at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic, Kaunas Philharmonic, Lithuanian Artists’ House, Vilnius Town Hall, and the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
